I am a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner in private practice since 1998. I’ve led over 1900 workshops, on-going classes and sessions including workshops for improved swimming, tennis and workshops for mothers and daughters. I’ve hosted a local Feldenkrais TV show. As a Kaiser Permanente’s Health Education teacher I’ve offered classes to members and in-service to their psychiatrists, physicians, and physical therapists. and participated on a panel addressing alternative help for cancer patients.
In my early career I was a professional dancer. I hold a BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and later training and career as an actor. Even though I’d spent my early career as a performer I never really learned how to slow down and pay attention to my body. In my effort to survive in the world of show biz I developed a “do or die” attitude. Finally my body gave out and I developed a very painful neck and shoulder injury. In my search for recovery a friend led me to a Feldenkrais teacher where I was given lasting relief. I was not only offered relief but a tool to feeling good day to day.
When I started to see how powerful it was to be able to have a body that felt comfortable I wanted to offer this opportunity to others. I discovered that slowing down doesn’t mean I’m weak, that paying attention and changing the way I’m moving not only freed me physically but mentally as well.
I bring a soothing voice and demeanor to my teaching which creates a safe space for people to learn and heal. I have a 30year meditation practice and am a certified facilitator of the Complete Self Attunement® meditation process.
